    Fearless and 35

Fearless and 35! 34 did not end how I thought it would… in a damn pandemic! I didn’t let it stop me, but propel me to plan. Every year I plan to do something that challenges or is out of the ordinary for me. Before my 34th year ended I did three things, that were out of the ordinary for me. I traveled solo to Tulum, Mexico, and relaxed like I have never relaxed before. I did nothing, but read, ate, and got massages. I even had time to do an affirmation video that you can check out on my IG TV . I did travel to Greece solo, but this trip I was actually by myself. No meetups planned, just me.

I logged out of social media and enjoyed my company. I sat outside and listened to the roosters be loud as hell. I ate tacos and drank tequila. I walked the streets of Tulum and even went to the beach. Going to the beach was so freeing. I stuffed my face and me and my big belly walked right to the ocean. I felt at peace.

Check out my mini self portraits I took during the trip.

The second thing I did was get my nose pierced! I was scared shitless for sure, but I did it. I even had to do it twice because it fell out a week after I got it the first time. That was not fun and I do not recommend it.

The third thing I did was have a boudoir experience with Celeste Patrice Boudoir. Whew child Celeste got me and I felt like a damn goddess. I was even able to help her by modeling with a friend for a couples experience. I cannot wait for the adventures I plan to take during 35! What are some things you plan to do this year by stepping on the other side of fear? Will you be fearless and free at any age?

    Cherry Blossom Intimates Collaboration

There comes a time in your life when you have to pursue your dreams relentlessly. Go after what you want with an unwavering dedication to the most important person in your life, yourself. I thought I had been slacking because I felt like there was no progression happening for me. I felt like I was stagnant and everyone around me was moving at full speed with their business. I was feeling down and not motivated. Then something amazing happened!

Let me talk about the power of manifestation and visualization before I tell you a little story.  I was visiting one of my favorite stores, Nordstrom Rack, and I saw a sign in a window. Cherry Blossom Intimates coming soon. The sign stated they were a lingerie store and I got so excited!  I immediately envisioned myself working with the business. I even took a picture and sent it to my sisters.

Fast forward to the opening day! I went to Cherry Blossom Intimates the first day it opened. I came to the door as they were closing and saw the closed sign and turned away. Jasmine saw me and assured me it was okay and to come in. I was so captivated by the gorgeous space I did not know where to look first! They have a pink moss wall and the lingerie was so decadent and luxurious! I met Dr. Hampton as well and heard the story of why the business is so necessary. I was so elated to see this gorgeous space owned and curated by two Black women that is for us! Not just for us, but the most vulnerable among us.

I am now collaborating with Cherry Blossom Intimates! Can you believe it? I used the power of manifesting and persistence to welcome this opportunity into my life. Check out our latest collaboration which is a package that includes curated lingerie, a personal lingerie fitting and boudoir experience! View the full package here.

    Empowered Woman

I have always considered myself a pretty girl and my husband has always said I am beautiful and if you need a mirror “I am your mirror”. I went from feeling pretty to truly embracing my curves and my sexuality in this photo shoot. You look at yourself and say “Damn! That’s a bad woman in those photos”. I thank Olesha for capturing every aspect of who I am and who my husband has alway seen, even in times when I did not.

So out of the entire boudoir experience my favorite part was learning to control my face. Lol….. Olesha and I had the funniest time going over photos and getting the best facial expressions. I learned to soften my expressions and just be myself and get out of my own head. We as woman tend to stay in our head and question this allowed me to be care free. Be Me!!

If you plan on doing this experience do it for you! It’s an experience that will allow you to feel empowered, sexy and just confident in being a woman. I gave the photos to my husband but every now and then I go and take a look at them to remind me “Damn, that girl is bad”…..

    Thanks,
    Shayna T.

    Part 3: Boudoir Travels

    Mykonos

Hey Beauties now let’s talk about Mykonos! Mykonos is where I was able to empower the women I met on my trip!

In order to get from Santorini to Mykonos I took a Seajet. The price was around $70 and the trip lasted a little over 2 hours. The ride was pretty smooth if you were seated. When I had to use the facilities I felt like I was walking a tightrope because I was swaying from left to right. If you have ever seen the movie World War Z, I felt like I was in that movie as we were disembarking. I have a vivid imagination and I love movies!

Image courtesy of Ilio Maris Hotel. This was my exact hotel room!

The hotel , Ilio Maris, was a 5 to 7 minute drive from the port for 5 Euros ( $5.59). I stayed from April 13 – 15 for $219. I booked through booking.com. I would suggest you book directly through the hotel to get free transportation to and from the airport. The hotel is a boutique hotel which I loved. When I travel I like to stay in hotels or Airbnbs with character. I was so excited because I finally had a tub which I took full advantage of after I finished 4 boudoir experiences in one day!  A sista was tired from standing, contorting and posing.

I did not take many pictures in Mykonos because most of my time was spent resting from doing the boudoir acrobatics for the 4 Beauties.

    Nice n’ Easy Restaurant

We dined at an amazing restaurant called Nice n Easy. The food was the best I had in Greece! It is a natural organic based restaurant with vegan and gluten free options. The manager was amazing and went above and beyond. This is where I got my first taste of Matiska, a Greek liqueur. Which is now on my all time favorite wine and spirits list! We were able to watch the sunset after dinner by just walking a foot from the our table to the water.

    ATHENS:

    The Graffti

I wish I had more time to explore Athens. What I loved is I was able to take the train directly from the airport to my Airbnb in Dafni. I bought a 3 day pass for 22 Euros = $24.60. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY! Being an art lover I was blown away by the graffti that was everywhere! It made the city come to life because of the bold use of color and whimsical imagery. I almost fell a few times because I was busy appreciating the art.

    My Airbnb

Let me tell y’all about my Airbnb! I stayed from April 15 – 17 paying $136.53 in total. The best part of the entire Airbnb, outside of my host Despina, was this amazing hanging chair. I stayed in that chair for 30 minutes when I got settled. It was so soothing. When I walked in my name was on a mini marque as well. I felt like a celebrity! The location was literally steps away from the metro which made it easy to make it to Monastiraki Square to shop, eat and people watch. I even had a small kitchen.

Overall I enjoyed my trip immensely! I did not take many images because this trip was really about much needed rest, relaxation and gratitude. I feel as if I met the goal and I cannot wait to go back and explore again. Check out the videos from my trip on my Instagram.
